Also, reflect on how the images are likely to affect the reader’s understanding. Try to determine if these stories are based on original journalism or based mostly on the press releases from the scientists’ university PR department. Do they provide accurate or inaccurate representations of the facts? If one of the stories is inaccurate, what might the writer’s reasons be for distorting the facts?
