1. In what way(s) might a good existentialist also end up being be a good feminist? Explain your answer. Also: in what way(s) might a good existentialist not end up being a good feminist? Explain your answer. (2 paragraphs total; one paragraph for each question asked in this prompt)

2. What is “non-Western” (even “non-American”) about Confucian and/or traditional African ethics? That is, what “Western” / “American” value(s) is (are) less important or not important at all in Confucian and/or traditional African ethics? Explain your answer. (2 paragraphs total; one paragraph naming and explaining some “Western” or “American” value – and giving some evidence as to why it should be considered “Western” / “American” – the evidence for this can be largely anecdotal or based on your experience and knowledge of life in this country; and one paragraph explaining why it is less important in Confucian and/or traditional African ethics)
3. For each of the three views we are considering (feminist ethics, existentialist ethics, Confucian/traditional African ethics), please do the following: imagine that you are a good practitioner of that view and someone is in need of encouragement and motivation to live that life – and live it well. You’ve been asked to act as a motivational speaker for them. (Again, for each of the three views) write a one-paragraph long motivational speech exhorting this person to take up the view you espouse. (Be respectful and not over-blown in your speech, please; but, also, be somewhat realistic about what a “pep” talk like this might look / sound like.)
