• Critically define language and literacy in a K-6 context using a range of academic sources (current journal articles)
• Validate the position of literature in the curriculum referencing a range of academic sources
• Examine and critically explore the works of a published Australian children’s author and the impact on curriculum using the correct syllabus outcome/s, with reference to a range of current academic sources
• Critically analyse the purpose, audience, structures and features of one or more of the author’s books using a range of current research to justify why they are appropriate for language and literacy development of students in a specific syllabus stage, referenced of the NSW Board of Studies English K-10 Syllabus (2012) outcomes
• Need to reference the text and at least six current peer-reviewed journal articles. Also reference your chosen children’s literature text/s and at least four teacher resource books/websites to support your discussion of the text’s links to the curriculum, audience and purpose, structure and features.
