(2015) by Ta-Nehisi Coates in The Atlantic is a look at the motivations for the Confederacy in the Civil War and for memorializing the Confederacy today and as we saw our brief look at “historical representations” there is a power to how historical events are remembered and presented.
Why does the historical representation of the United States during, and before, the Civil War matter?
