Argumentative Essay ( thesis and critical thinking)

choose a topic relevant to the world around you. More specifically, I want you to think of this topic as a cultural or social experience that you want to make sense of and further add whether you agree or disagree with it and why. This type of writing gives you the opportunity to show your audience how well you understand a topic and develop what you think about the topic and why you feel that way (thesis and critical analysis).
You should choose a topic that interests you. In other words, make a list of different issues/ideas that interest you and then choose one to write an essay about!
For example, I could make a list based on the different hobbies I am interested in, communities I participate in, or I might just make a list of topics that I am interested in writing about.
I love sports, reading, watching TV, horror films, Cleveland history
I am interested in parenting ideas, being creative, fixing up my house, friendships, family, and finding something to do with the family
The communities I participate in, teaching, Massillon little league, neighborhood association, writing, reading
Once I come up with a list, I will want to ask myself a question about my topic so that my essay has purpose:
Why are so many people trying fad diets? Does the media (TV, ads, movies) only show beauty a certain way? Why is reality TV so popular right now? Where is a good place to hang out with the family in my community? Why should I participate in my neighborhood association?
