As you know, the term paper is on a special topic within medical sociology (ie. eating disorders,
AIDS, universal health care, sports medicine). You need to find a focus, highlight a problem,
answer a question, or a combination of the above. Here are some examples of topics:

You must submit a proposal by September 22 on the topic area of your choice. Once the proposal
is approved you can start writing your paper.
As described in class, your proposal should include:
● Problem Statement: The issue you are highlighting or the question you are answering
● An outline of what you will be covering (a bulletted list is fine)
● An explanation of why you chose this topic
