2. Prepare a written, researched report analyzing the opportunities to scale the organization.
3. Recommend whether CFW Clinics should remain a not-for-profit or if they should establish
a for-profit enterprise. Include a discussion of the stakeholders involved and their
competing needs.
4. In the role of an external consultant, provide recommendations for how the organization
should scale. Include your recommendations for staffing and specific leadership skills that
will be needed as the organization expands.
5. Analysis and recommendations should be primarily based on material covered in this

Overview of the CFW Clinics Case:
For ten years, CFW Clinics have been operating in Kenya as for-profit enterprises under the non-
profit HealthStore Foundation (HSF). The CFW brand has been operating through the Sustainable
Healthcare Foundation (SHF), a nonprofit in Kenya. Now CFW has been established as a trusted
brand, HSF is considering running it exclusively as a for-profit entity to gain additional funding from
investors. There is disagreement among the two top managers of the organization as to which path
the clinic should pursue as they continue to grow their operation.
