Discussion 1: Competition Round 1 Functional Strategies
We will be running Competition Round 1 in class. After it is run each Capstone team member is to analyze the Competition Round results from the perspective of two of the four Decision Areas (R&D, Marketing, Production, or Finance) and how decisions in that area impacted performance in other functional areas and overall team results. Put a primary focus on your own team results, but include in your analysis at least some of the results from the other teams. This discussion board can be used to post your analysis.

Discussion 2: External Environment (Five Forces)-this has to be 300 words
Taken what we learned in class, you are to discuss at least one key aspect of each of the Five Forces (rivalry, new entrants, substitutes, seller power, buyer power) that is of critical importance to success of a firm in your industry (my industry is recruiting or human resources) (or of another firm you used to be associated with). You are expected to apply theory from Ch. 3 in the Strategy text on each of the five forces. Note that “buyer” power is from the standpoint of external effects on your firm and “seller” power is from the standpoint of external effects on your firm. Your initial posting should be approx 300 words (several sentences on each of the 5 forces). Check the calendar for due dates.
