Argumentative Essay on Academic Honesty/Plagiarism
Pre-University English
In a well-crafted essay of at 700-800 words, you are to present the central arguments associated with a situation involving an issue of academic dishonesty. You may choose to consider one of the scenarios on pages four and five of the James E. Porter document, which were discussed in class, OR you may select a case described in another source. Your thesis should take a stance based on the scenario.
Your essay must follow proper manuscript rules (MLA style) and include the following:
● properly formatted page layout
● clearly identifiable thesis (please underline it!)
● properly crafted main body paragraphs
● at least one direct reference (quoted)
● at least one indirect reference (paraphrased)
● conclusion
● Works Cited page (wherein you included the source from which you selected the scenario you present, be it the Porter article or another source)
