The Medieval Monastery as a City

– Discover an adequate number (minumum of 5) scholarly sources that address the topic.
– Write a concise, well-argued paper with proper documentation and illustration.
– Write clear, concise prose; organize your thoughts into a logical argument.
– Content – The following elements should be found in the
paper:
A. Thesis – A clear statement of what you intend to show in the paper;
B. Description – An adequate and lucid description of the object(s) (city, building, text) under
scrutiny;
C. Analysis – Account for the salient features of your subject as they pertain to your thesis;
D. Interpretation – Explain the meaning of your object of study; and
E. Conclusion – revisit your thesis and argument and explain why you believe you’ve proved your thesis.

Paper should include:
1. Footnotes or Endnotes;
2. Bibliography – Cite at least 5 scholarly sources; and
3. Illustrations (refer to each illustration in your text, write captions, give sources for each
illustration).
