Requirements:
●1200 words
●MLA format
●3 sources minimum
●Conventions of academic writing: 3rd person, no contractions, etc.
●Should incorporate a mixture of quotes, paraphrase, and summaries from your sources
●Includes a clear thesis statement which makes a claim
●Includes a consideration of counter arguments
●Includes a rationale for the argument and the implications of your argument
General format
Your essays will follow the following structure:
●Introduction containing a thesis statement
●A clear claim involving a question of definition ●A general definition or commonly held definition
●A careful look at your subject in terms of that general definition
●Evidence for every part of your argument
●A consideration of other views and counter arguments
●A conclusion containing the implications of your argument
