• Identify and negotiate with your tutor an appropriate title and theme for your research project (LO 1)
• Develop an aim and hypothesis for the research project (LO 1)
• Show an understanding of the background to the subject area by writing a plan of source material

• Produce a completed outline proposal/plan for a research project, including an intended timetable, a Method section (method, participants, design, justification for the method, design and procedure) and information regarding how results would be analysed and presented (LO 2)
• Ensure that you address the ethical issues that may arise as a result of undertaking this research. The British Psychological Society’s ethical guidelines provide useful guidance.
• Acknowledge all your sources using the Harvard reference system ( LO 3)
• Justify the choice of a range of sources to be used in the project (LO 3)
