Student papers will be graded on the following items:
 A succinct company summary including the name of the company, the scope of its products or services, its current business-level strategy, and the current performance level of the company. (No more than one full page in length)
 A succinct industry summary including the industry classification (the SIC or NAICS code), a description of the industry to include its scope of products or services, the industry sales growth rates, and the top companies in the industry. (No more than one full page in length)
 A thorough external analysis encompassing the Five Forces Analysis and the General Environment Analysis; also included should be a succinct summary of the company’s chief competitor or industry rival (discuss the competitor by providing at minimum the name of the company, the company’s current-business level strategy, their current performance, and why they as opposed to another company is the chief rival)
 A thorough discussion of at least two realistic strategies that you recommend the company should pursue as a direct result of your analysis, along with a detailed

implementation plan for each. It will be unacceptable to recommend that the company
should “keep doing what they are doing” or that they should not change anything.
 Please note that doing the minimum will be associated with the “Meets Expectation” portion of the rubric (see below)
Please see the following grading rubric for this project. Papers have a minimum page requirement of five (5) full double-spaced pages of text (this does NOT include sources and supporting materials). Each paper should include supporting materials such as a graphs, figures, or tables (which DO NOT count towards the minimum page requirement), and must have at least five (5) cited sources (the format of the paper and citations are up to you). Please see the syllabus calendar for the due date associated with this assignment.
