Complete a second Journal Article Review (JAR 2) using this template. In the Yorkville Library, find ONE journal article related to counselling. Ideally, you will draw from the topic you are researching for your final project and use the second JAR to further develop your understanding of the topic. For JAR 2, the design should be qualitative and utilize a formal qualitative methodology (rather than simply asking open-ended questions and reporting the results). You must distinguish the qualitative design type in the discussion. Note: once again, single-subject case studies are not permitted. In your JAR2, the methodology and analyses (including results) should be clearly discussed.
The purpose of an article review is to communicate the main points of a study and to discuss both the implications and strengths and weaknesses of the design. The review is not meant to re-iterate the details of the study and paraphrase each and every point; rather, it should summarize and discuss the study. These assignments should be seen as an opportunity for you to demonstrate your understanding of the course concepts, particularly in the Discussion section. Quotes should be used sparingly or not at all. The JAR you will complete for this assignment should be about 2 – 3 pages in length. There are no penalties for going slightly over this limit, but the final length should be close. As a rule of thumb, aim to write about 1/3 page for each of the five main section headings in the template (Introduction, Method, Results, Implications, Discussion). Use quotes sparingly, if at all; they will not be counted for content or length.
Submissions should be double-spaced and follow APA format. Please note that APA includes attention to word choice, grammar, punctuation, syntax, page and heading formatting, as well as in-text citation and referencing style. Do not use a numeral to start a sentence (use word form or re-word the sentence to avoid beginning with a number), do not use bullet points, and if you are presenting information that you have not read first-hand (i.e., a secondary source), indicate this using the (as cited in….) convention, as per APA. Note that the secondary source should not be included on your reference page. See Appendix A in the Goodwin text, pp. 379-398, for important guidelines to follow in your writing.
The blue text notes in the template are for your guidance only and do not belong in the final product. Therefore, delete all blue type and all text in square brackets. Note that this template serves as a guide for the content and format but you should consult the APA Publication Manual as well.

The theory of pluralism and interest groups
Analyze the theory of pluralism. Your essay should discuss the following: (A) the main assumptions of pluralism concerning the role of interests and factions in American politics; (B) James Madison’s concerns about factions and their effects on government; and (C) some contemporary criticisms of pluralism in American politics.
Also,
How does the federal government regulate lobbying and what impact do these regulations have on the strategies employed by lobbyists? In your answer, be sure to discuss specific laws passed by Congress as well as recent Supreme Court decisions on campaign finance.
Advice: The first half of the prompt is fairly theoretical, whereas the second asks you to consider some of the practical implications of these theories. You might want to consider how the government has its own interests in balancing theory and practice here. For added reference, watch this video – CGP Grey: Rules for Rulers.
Canvas as keyword
Revisit the keyword canvas. What tension or conflict seems to be embedded in the
term? Locate two scholarly publications from different disciplines (disciplines outside your area of expertise) that investigate or make extensive use of the term or, if it is very unusual, a related or proximal term. Write a loose, reflective letter to your best buddy or art mentor, describing why the keyword seems useful or matters and what you have learned about it so far.Revisit the keyword canvas. Clinical Reasoning and Deteriorating Patient
Clinical Reasoning and the Deteriorating Patient
Length: 2000 words, APA style must be used
Introduction and Conclusion MUST be included
Task
This assessment will require the student to apply the clinical reasoning cycle to a complex scenario and discuss the nursing role.
Using the Case Study provided, you will apply the Clinical Reasoning Cycle to the Case Scenario.
Your critical analysis should address the following:
- Analyse the case study and develop a discussion of the application of each element of the Clinical Reasoning Cycle as outlined by Levett-Jones, T. (Ed.). (2017). Clinical Reasoning: Learning to think like a nurse (2nd ed.). Frenchs Forest, NSW: Pearson Australia.
- Use the clinical data provided to identify moments of deterioration and four (4) evidence-based nursing interventions that are appropriate at the moments of deterioration. Include your reasoning, justification and rationale utilising ‘the slippery slope’.
- Use the ISBAR communication tool provided to develop a handover script to the Medical Officer you are calling (No more than 250 words).
While sub-headings can be used to structure this assessment, tables and dot points are not permitted.
Your responses must be supported by peer-reviewed evidence, commensurate with the level of evidence-based practice expected of a beginning practitioner.
You must support your discussion with 16 or more recent references (less than 7 years old) and credible sources. Credible sources include the following:
- peer reviewed journal articles (these are the highest quality sources)
- contemporary text books
- best practice guidelines
- government documents
- health facility clinical guidelines, pathways and policies/procedures
- websites containing content aimed at health professionals (usually ending in .org, edu or .gov)
Presentation
Leave 2 cm margins and double line space your work, so that there is ample space for markers to comment. In addition,
Introduction and Conclusion MUST be included
- Font must be 12pt, unless otherwise indicated.
- All pages must be numbered.
- Student name and number must be included in the header or footer of every page of every assignment.
- A title page must accompany your written assessment task and include the subject name and code, title of the assessment task, due date, submission date, lecturer’s name, student name and student number.
