Policy Research Essay
The part one of the work is more like a research proposal for part two, the focus of the work is stated on part two, it can be any of the international health organization such as the World Health Oraganization(WHO) etc.
This work has to be done by one writer as part one is the starting part of part two
Part 1) Annotated bibliography and thesis statement development assignment (for upcoming policy research essay) – 20%– Prepare a list of approximately 10 sources (more sources are fine, but fewer sources are not recommended) for the upcoming research paper, including academic sources (i.e. peer reviewed journal articles or peer reviewed book chapters) and policy-related grey literature. Each source should be described in three to five sentences including the central argument of the piece and how it will contribute to your research paper. This collection of sources should conclude with a draft thesis statement for the upcoming paper. The thesis statement should consist of two parts – the central argument of your paper and how this argument will be developed and defended throughout the paper (this translates into a sentence or two as to how you will structure the paper).3 pages
Part 2) Policy research essay – 40% – Critically examine an international health agency policy challenge related to themes and topics covered in the course(HH/HLST3540). Data is to be gathered through traditional means (i.e. academic journals), via grey sources (governmental and NGO organizational literature), the media (if applicable) and observation of a related public event (speeches/public lectures, political debates, rallies, etc.) that can be done in-person or over the Internet. The paper should cover the following areas:
1) contextualize the policy “challenge” by discussing the history of the challenge and past approaches to
rectify the challenge; 2) provide an overview of current policy and programming approaches; 3) discuss
how you gathered data (traditional and observational) to address the policy challenge; 4) explain the
analysis/results of your research; and 5) conclude the paper with an informed critique of current policy
which draws upon recommendations from your own research and existing scholarship. Length: 10 pages.
If you wish to receive written feedback, in addition to your mark, for the policy research essay, please
indicate this on the first page of your paper. I am happy to comply with such requests; however,
otherwise, students will be supplied with their mark only.
Benchmark – Capstone Project Change Proposal
In this assignment, students will pull together the change proposal project components they have been working on throughout the course to create a proposal inclusive of sections for each content focus area in the course. At the conclusion of this project, the student will be able to apply evidence-based
research steps and processes required as the foundation to address a clinically oriented problem or issue in future practice.
Students will develop a 1,250-1,500 word paper that includes the following information as it applies to the problem, issue, suggestion, initiative, or educational need profiled in the capstone change proposal:
Background
Problem statement
Purpose of the change proposal
PICOT
Literature search strategy employed
Evaluation of the literature
Applicable change or nursing theory utilized
Proposed implementation plan with outcome measures
Identification of potential barriers to plan implementation, and a discussion of how these could be overcome
Appendix section, if tables, graphs, surveys, educational materials, etc. are created
Review the feedback from your instructor on the Topic 3 assignment, PICOT Statement Paper, and Topic 6 assignment, Literature Review. Use the feedback to make appropriate revisions to the portfolio components before submitting.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

Punished for the wrong reason
Discussion: Punished for the Wrong Reasons
1 1 unread reply. 3 3 replies.
In part two of The Stranger, the jury convicts Meursault NOT for the murder of the nameless Arab, but because he didn’t cry at his mother’s funeral. In your view, should people be judged, legally or otherwise, for not abiding by society’s norms? In other words, in which ways might be it be valid to punish those we consider different from us in terms of culture, religious beliefs, or morals?
Guidelines for Discussion:
For full credit on these discussions, your responses must
be written in complete sentences.
include one original post and a response to another student’s original post.
not simply be an “I agree” or “I disagree post.
Respond below to student post.
I feel as if Meursault’s trial was very unjust. Yes, he should have been punished for killing the Arab on the beach, however, his sentencing was more based on his emotionless nature rather than the crime. In a perfect world, I would say that it is unfair to judge somebody just because they are different, or they are not “normal.” But, our world is not fair, and in reality when we see somebody who does something differently than we do, our fist thought is to judge. In everyday life, I hope that we can stop branding people who are different as “weird” or “strange” because that isn’t always the case. When it comes to a trial, I feel as if personality traits can be helpful in choosing a sentencing, but they shouldn’t be the sole reason. For example, Meursault should have been convicted of his crime because he did kill the Arab. However, sentencing a first time offender to execution because he doesn’t express and/or allow himself to feel his own emotions seems extreme. He should have been given life in prison with the possibility of parole if he can prove that he is not a danger to the people. I feel as if it is very rare for anyone to have the right to “punish” anyone because they are different than us. The only thing I can think of is if someone is using their culture or religious beliefs to condone violence, that would be a moral I personally (and I assume many others) would not condone. However, I also believe that any major judgment should be saved for a judge and a jury. I certainly believe that I would form a negative opinion and standpoint on these types of people and there eventual crimes, but I don’t feel as if I have the right to judge them, because I truly do not know what is going through their mind. How does someone know they are not mentally ill, or that they have been brainwashed by someone, or maybe they just believe that what they are doing is right. Until we have all of the facts and know everything there is to know about somebody or something, we really do not have the right to judge someone, even though we are only human and will most likely will do it anyways.

The Late Middle Ages were age of crisis and transformation in Western Civilization. Many historians would argue that the modern world, a world that questions authority and pushes for new ideas, was born out of the crisis of the fourteenth and fifteenth century.
Chapter Eleven also reviews the origins and impact of the Black Death that swept through Europe and appeared, for a time, that is would extinguish the fire of Western society. When we think of great plagues and apocalyptic ideas, it is often with a mind toward this time period of history (television shows and movies based around the zombie theme would have a hard time competing with the terror and insecurity that great plagues brought in the Late Middle Ages. Persistent warfare and a changing social order also led to a more uncertain time period.
Despite these significant problems and challenges, this time period in Western society continued to see both technological innovation and new styles of literature. Indeed, the invention of moveable type and the printing press would lead to a new growth of information and, in turn, challenges to the established ideas of the church and monarchy. These innovations would also allow Europe to begin to take another shot at forging empires overseas. While China had already produced the most massive maritime exploration the world had seen to this point (the voyages of Zheng He), the explorations of the late fifteenth century would result in a New World.
Read Chapter Eleven in the textbook (pages 382-417) and answer ONE of the following questions. There is also a bonus question worth three points that deals with a podcast from the chapter below.
Your response to the question you choose should be approximately 600-800 words in length and double-spaced. The essay should rely on ideas from the textbook and the documents contained within Chapter Eleven. The essay should not use direct quotations from outside sources.
Again, please answer ONE of the following questions
In what ways did the Black Death have a catastrophic impact on Afro-Eurasia? In what ways did the Black Death increase political turmoil around the globe in the fourteenth century? Use specific examples in your essay. (pages 382-402)
Review Map 11.1 concerning the spread of the Black Death and page 390 on mortality rates. What are some of the reasons given (and implied) for why population loss was greater in Europe than in Asia?
In what ways did Ottoman achievements such as the Topkapi Palace and the devshirme system help to consolidate their power? In what ways did European leaders use inspiration from ancient Greek and Roman institutions to produce new art and new scholarship such as humanism? (pages 391-404)

For three bonus points, answer the following questions in two solid paragraphs.
How does Professor Alan Karras describe how China and the Ottoman Empire practiced either “Good Laws” or “Good Arms”? How does the Spanish Inquisition show another, more brutal, path toward “law and order”? Do we see these types of debates and methods in our own society today?
