Computing and BIT Team Project 2018/19

Assignment 1 – Team Portfolio
Overview
As is typical in any project based activity you will naturally accumulate evidence of the work produced particularly through the production of associated documentation. From the beginning of the project you should work as a team to collect and collate this evidence for presentation during the project. You will present your work on two occasions and formally submit your portfolio at the end of the module. You should pay close attention to ongoing advice on how your portfolio should develop and what should be included.
Team Presentations (40%)
Work in Progress (20%)
During your normal scheduled tutorial session in the week beginning 4th Mar 2019 you will make a presentation to your supervisor, this will provide an overview of the progress being made on your project. By this point you will have a coherent and functioning plan for your project, evidence of on-going project management and evidence of initial prototyping. You will be expected to present your work in a professional manner and you will be given credit and feedback on the effectiveness of your presentation as well as the progress your team is making with the overall project.

nature of the light

Dear writer ,you have done this assignment for me but my tutor is not happy with that he emailed me some improvement for that please read that and do it exactly what he wants .He is so accurate on this assignment and I really need do this perfect . I attached his previous voice and paper and also your writing agin .I paid extra for that because It was later than 14 days and I didnt know that please please do it perfect thats my last chance.

You should approach the essay by discussing what observations suggest light should be classified as a wave and what observations suggest it should be classified as a particle. Within the essay you must include calculations using formula E = hf and discuss the inverse square law for light.

– Good start with relevant information. The structure of your essay could be improved by the use of appropriate sections/subheadings
– You should start with an introduction linking the essay title/brief to the content of your essay. Perhaps further outline what you intend to discuss in relation to the essay title
– Currently, I think you need to go into more depth with discussion of the wave behaviour of light and consider if/why is it exclusive to a wave. Consider other wave behaviours discussed in classes, not just Young’s double slit experiment. Also consider why the photoelectric effect shows light must be treated as a particle. Perhaps reduce the information (and formulae) you have included in the Photoelectric effect and Compton scattering sections as this doesn’t necessarily address the essay title – consider the essay title (found of the pink front sheet) throughout
– You should include a full example (using two distances, each with units) in your inverse square law section
– You should finish with a conclusion/summary, explaining your findings and what you have discussed in response to the essay title
– Including and referring to diagrams / images may support discussion
– Please add the essay title (found on the pink front sheet), page numbers and ensure you have added appropriate citations/references (consistent with advice provided by Penny) to your final essay

Are all maps political, or is a neutral, objective map possible?

Try to dissect this question into its parts. These parts can then function as separate essay sections. Make sure, however, that you interlink and bridge the sections to support your argument. The answer to the question is your central argument. The central argument should be announced in the introduction, substantiated throughout the body of the text, and reiterated in the conclusion.

The question requires you to engage with the relevant literature. A good place to start is the material from 4 ‘World(s) and Earth’. Have a look at the slides and core readings of that week, but make sure to extend your engagement with the literature. Have a look at Harley’s seminal paper ‘Deconstructing the Map.’ This should provide you with a solid basis to assess the representational power of maps.

Consider using choosing a case study (e.g. the Mercator projection) to further support your argument. It is often best to keep the numbers of case studies/ examples low. You don’t have time or space to engage with too many examples. A discussion of one or two cases allows you to provide depth to your analysis.

Both articles discuss the benefits and drawbacks of collecting data, but the manner in which they present this information is very different. Write an essay that analyzes how each author develops this argument and the overall strength of each. In your analysis, evaluate the use of ethos, pathos, and/or logos; style, word choice, and tone; and the author’s purpose. Remember to use textual evidence from both texts to support your analysis.

Read the following two articles about whether governments and banks should have the right to collect and sell private citizens’ data. The first source is RT, a media platform funded by the Russian state government; the second source is In These Times, a progressive activism journal based in Chicago.

These are two sources that present alternative viewpoints of the same topic. Neither presents factually inaccurate information, but both are biased in ways that may influence the content or presentation of information. As always, it is important to consider the sources from a critical perspective as you respond to the demands of the prompt.
