Ethics And Duty

Address the following in a 1–2-page paper:

questions to answer

Explain deontology and the role of the categorical imperative in determining one’s ethical duty.

  1. Illustrate your understanding of this ethical theory with a concrete example of an ethical dilemma.
  2. Discuss an ethical theory that would take a different approach
  3. Be sure to explain and discuss any key ideas with supporting citations to the textbook and online lectures in correct APA format. Use this APA Citation Helper as a convenient reference for properly citing resources.
  4. Explain deontology and the role of the categorical imperative in determining one’s ethical duty.

The differences between acute and chronic pain

Complete all of your lesson materials and assigned readings. Make sure that you are focusing on:

  • The differences between acute and chronic pain
  • Reasons that a patient would experience acute versus chronic pain and patient presentation examples of each.

You should be using complete sentences to answer the questions. Ensure that you are using correct grammar. In addition, support your answers using your textbook, course materials, credible internet resources, and scholarly journals. SkyScape is a great suggestion for assistance in completion of this assignment. All citations must be in APA format. 1 Point

  1. Describe the difference between acute and chronic pain? 1 Points
  2. List some reasons that a patient would experience acute versus chronic pain and give the patient presentation for each example? 3 Points

Develop and design Entity and related attributes the based on given parameters.

THE CASE:

Various physicians and surgeons working for Central Hospital are on an annual salary [o]. These doctors are identified by their respective employee numbers. The other descriptors of a doctor are: name, gender, address, and phone. Each physician’s specialty and rank [o] are captured; each surgeon’s, specialty and skill are also captured; a surgeon may have one or more skills.

In Central Hospital IT system Every physician serves as a primary care physician for at least seven patients; however, no more than 20 patients are allotted to a physician. Every patient is assigned one physician for primary care. Some patients need surgeries; others don’t. Surgeons perform surgeries for the patients in the clinic. Some do a lot of surgeries; others do just a few. The date and operation theater [o] for each surgery needs to be recorded, too. Removal of a surgeon from the clinic database is prohibited if that surgeon is scheduled to perform any surgery. However, if a patient chooses to pull out of the surgery schedule, all surgeries scheduled for that patient are cancelled.   Data for patients include: patient number (the unique identifier of a patient), name, gender, date of birth, blood type, cholesterol (consisting of HDL, LDL, and triglyceride), blood sugar, and the code and name of allergies, if any.

Physicians may prescribe medications to patients; thus, it is necessary to capture which physician(s) prescribe(s)s what medication(s) to which patient(s) along with dosage and frequency. In addition, no two physicians can prescribe the same medication to the same patient. If a physician leaves the clinic, all prescriptions written by that physician should also be removed because this information is retained in the archives.

A patient may be taking several medications, and a particular medication may be taken by several patients. Despite its list price, a medication’s cost varies from patient to patient, perhaps because of the difference in insurance coverage. The cost of a medication for a patient needs to be captured. A medication may interact with several other medications. When a medication is removed from the system, its interaction with other medications, if any, should be voided. When a patient leaves the clinic, all the medication records for that patient are removed from the system.

Medications are identified by either their unique medication codes or by their unique names. Other attributes of a medication are its classification, list price, and manufacturer [o]. For every medication, either the medication code or the medication name must be present—not necessarily both.

Note: [o] indicates optionality of value for the attribute.

QUESTION:  Develop and design Entity and related attributes the based on given parameters. For each Entity, identify the primary key. Draw an ER diagram that shows the entity types and relationship types.  Provide our solution in ER diagrams (Conceptual ER diagram symbols).

What strategic initiatives did HR implement to resolve the organizational issue or achieve the company’s strategic goal?

For your initial post, consider a current or previous employer and an organizational issue or strategic goal they had (e.g., talent acquisition, employee retention, low employee engagement, poor performance management, etc.). Briefly describe the issue and respond to the following guiding questions, taking into consideration the SHRM Body of Competency & Knowledge model:

  • What strategic initiatives did HR implement to resolve the organizational issue or achieve the company’s strategic goal?
  • What behavioral competencies did HR professionals need to demonstrate in order to gain management buy-in and successful implementation of the HR indicatives?
  • What might the impact be if HR initiatives are not developed across an organization? (For example, what would happen if the organizational issue were employee retention, but HR only focused on talent acquisition and the hiring of individuals with the right skill set?)

DISCUSSION 2

Child Care Facility Analysis

Take a video tour  As you watch the video, analyze various aspects of the facility and how it is designed, organized, used, and maintained.  Support your analysis by referencing the philosophy, vision, and mission statement that you created in Week One.  Facility aspects include:  safety, welcoming environment, indoor space, outdoor space, health and well-being, philosophy of learning, staff, developmentally appropriate practice, parent communication, etc.

In your post, assess one aspect that you feel is commendable with support from Chapter 5 of the textbook.  Then, evaluate one aspect that you feel could be improved with support from the text (these may include aspects of the facility that were not addressed in the video).  Lastly, offer specific ideas for improving these aspects.  Your discussion post should be at least 200 words in length.

DISCUSSION 3

Nutrition, Health, and Safety

One of the most important responsibilities of early childhood administrators is to ensure that children’s nutrition, health, and safety needs are met.  For this discussion, select one of the following nutrition, health, or safety concerns to research:

  • Meal planning:  A child who is on a gluten-free diet
  • Playground safety:  A child who repeatedly breaks the rules at the playground
  • Immunizations:  Parents who choose not to immunize their child
  • Childhood obesity:  Parents who send their overweight child to school with unhealthy snacks
  • Food safety and sanitation:  A food service worker at the center who doesn’t use a hairnet or gloves
  • Communicable disease prevention:  A teacher who does not wash her hands after helping children in the bathroom

Describe two to three strategies to address this nutrition, health, or safety concern.  Support your ideas with a reference to at least one outside source and be sure to cite that source.  Your discussion post should be at least 200 words in length.

Consider the position you are looking at in the Job Analysis Project.

Choose 1 of the following questions and respond to it. Include in your thread the question you chose to answer; the question is not to be included in your word count for this forum, however.

  1. Consider the position you are looking at in the Job Analysis Project. State the position and describe how you might go about determining scores for applicants’ responses to (a) interview questions, (b) letters of recommendation, and (c) questions about previous work experience.
  2. Assume you gave a general ability test, measuring both verbal and computational skills, to a group of applicants for a specific job. Also, assume because of severe hiring pressures, you hired all of the applicants, regardless of their test scores. How would you investigate the criterion-related validity of the test?

What did you think “intelligence” meant? Has this view changed?

Theories of Cognitive Development: The blind men and the elephant:

You read about several ways that psychologists have defined intelligence. Before reading this chapter, what did you think “intelligence” meant? Has this view changed? If you had to write a definition of intelligence, what would it be, and why? Based on what you have learned about intelligence tests, how well do they measure “intelligence” as you would define it?

Note:

  1. (Rubrics) Your posting demonstrates thoughtful consideration of the assignment’s subject matter and presents original ideas that advance the discussion in a meaningful way. What did you think “intelligence” meant? Has this view changed?

You will  advise the CEO on how best to position his organization to be responsive  to change in order to take advantage of the strategies you have  recommended.

Project Deliverable 4: The Organization’s Response to Change

Due Week 9 and worth 150 points

From  the same case that you have chosen for Deliverables 1 to 3, you will  advise the CEO on how best to position his organization to be responsive  to change in order to take advantage of the strategies you have  recommended.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

  1. Give  your opinion as to whether your chosen company’s industry is maturing  or declining, based on its evolution history. Justify your answer.
  2. Use  Porter’s National Diamond to evaluate the relative main advantages and  disadvantages of vertical integration versus outsourcing for the  company. Support your response.
  3. Use the Boston Consulting Group’s growth-share matrix to evaluate the company’s strategic position as of 2013. Note: Refer to Figure 14.2 “The BCG Growth-share Matrix”, located on page 369, chapter 14 of the textbook.
  4. Suggest  one (1) approach for the CEO to adopt in order to implement the  strategies that you recommended in Project Deliverable 3. Include the  main changes in decision-making style, main changes in planning  structure, and measures of success in your recommendation. Provide a  rationale for your response.
  5. Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

The axial strain of the test specimen was calculated using the sample change of height as
follows:
H / Ho   [4.1]
Where:       
Axial strain (%)
 = Change in specimen height (cm)
Ho = Initial specimen height (cm)
7. Results/Conclusions
a. This sections wraps up your entire lab report, and needs to be the ‘meat and potatoes’ of
any good lab report.
b. These issues, but not limited to, need to be addressed:
i. Write one or two sentences describing what was done as part of the procedure
ii. introduce any figures/images/tables/schematics that are relevant to illustrating or
correlated to the final product, and discuss their importance and relevancy
iii. document any insight/lessons that were gained during the procedure
iv. indicate the quantity of time and cost (if applicable) to complete the procedure
v. compare and contrast any variables/assumptions used
vi. Add any additional information that you find vital to the success of your results
