Ancient World: Identify how the cultures of the ancient Western World (for our purposes, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome) shaped Western forms of government, society, and religion and explain what impact these contributions had in the development of a “Western Civilization.”
Please develop and write essay responses the questions below. You must work on your own and neither collaborate nor write with any other student.
First essay:
1. Ancient World: Identify how the cultures of the ancient Western World (for our purposes, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome) shaped Western forms of government, society, and religion and explain what impact these contributions had in the development of a “Western Civilization.”
Second essay:
2. Medieval West: Discuss how three institutions shaped life in medieval Europe: the manor, the church, and the village. Use evidence and examples from your textbook, primary sources, and Judith Bennett’s A Medieval Life.
Your essays should have an introduction that helps your reader (me) identify your response to the essay prompts. Think of the introduction as a roadmap—it will tell me exactly what you plan to talk about in your exam. Make sure you have a main thesis statement—one sentence that describes what your essay will argue—for each essay you write (three for this exam).
Each part of your answer should follow in supporting paragraphs. Each of these must have an easily identifiable topic sentence that describes how the paragraph supports your main point. Each paragraph should also provide evidence. Evidence must be drawn from the primary sources listed above. For this exam you must provide primary source evidence in the form of paraphrasing AND direct quotations from some of the primary sources listed on the syllabus. Supporting, or secondary, evidence must come from your textbook and lectures, (and from library resources if you need them) and Bennett’s A Medieval Life. That is how you’ll fill in the chronology and background information.
Every time you use a piece of evidence, either in the form of paraphrasing, summary, or direct quotation, you need to provide me with a citation—a reference that indicates where you got the information, who wrote that information, etc. A guide to proper citations for history papers is available on Moodle. You must use this guide as your write your exam. If you do not cite your sources properly, you will receive no credit for that portion of the exam.
Finally, your essay should have a conclusion. The point of a conclusion is to summarize your main argument. It reminds the reader of what your main point was and how you demonstrated the correctness or viability of your argument. Just as the introduction tells a reader where you’ll be going in the exam, the conclusion should tell the reader where they’ve just been. It can feel repetitive, but it is important for you as a writer to reflect on what you’ve just accomplished, and it is important for the reader to have a nice wrap-up of your argument.
Your essay will also be evaluated on accuracy and organization and style. This means that I’m looking for proofreading. Are all of your statements true? Do you display understanding and command of the information in the texts? Do all of your paragraphs have topic sentences? Do they all provide evidence to your reader? Are all your words spelled correctly? Is the essay written in a formal manner? Did you avoid informalities? Is the essay grammatically correct? Is the punctuation, right? Part of convincing your reader to take you seriously means taking time with spelling, grammar, and style.

Final Project Synthesis: Community Agency, Networking & Intervention
Final Project Synthesis: Community Agency, Networking & Intervention
For this assignment, the agencies you presented in the week 3 Community Agency Review assignment, and core points from the Kearney (2001) book, will be used in application to the case scenario noted below. The case scenario is completely fictitious, however, reflects events that occur for which clients seek support services.
Case Scenario:
You are a lay-counselor in your church services program. You are assigned to work with a family. Andrea, an only child, is an 8 year old female, and was medically diagnosed with a sexually transmitted illness just one week ago. From this diagnosis, investigation discovered that she was being sexually abused by her Uncle. It is suspected that this had been occurring since the age of 4, when Andrea’s mother began a full-time job, which necessitated leaving the daughter in the care of the child’s Aunt. The medical personnel who diagnosed the STI appropriately reported the suspected abuse. Andrea was visited and interviewed, in school, by a Child Protective Services worker. Andrea, since disclosure and findings, has become withdrawn, exhibits frequent crying, and has expressed that she hates herself. Having difficulty in coping with findings that their daughter was sexually abused and confused with the process of the investigation, the parents report frequently arguing, blaming themselves and each other, and feeling guilty regarding “letting this happen.” Additionally, they report uncertainty as to how to help Andrea.

Key words include apply, construct, use core information, predict, discuss. (Approximately two page)

Discuss why you chose these service agencies as appropriate. Present a plan of how you would collaborate with the agencies to provide complete and informed support to the family. Provide information and ideas from the Kearney (2001) text and course materials to validate and support your plan. The Community Review Assignment required the development of a plan of collaboration. include all of the following:
Note: The point values for each section are noted below and should be used to determine the
relative length across sections.
Company Research (35) – Information about the company including, but not limited to, the
following should be provided:
A. Value-added activities and value chain analysis
B. Customer profile
C. Competitive situation (include competitors, market info, etc.)
D. External Analysis (environmental and economic factors, Five Forces (threat of new
entrants, rivalry among existing firms, threat of substitution, bargaining power of
customers, and bargaining power of suppliers), Market Life-Cycle, pportunities/threats)
E. Internal Analysis (competitive advantage, strengths/weaknesses)
F. Analysis of current financial situation (financial ratios, graphs/charts displaying the
current situation, opinion on the organization’s financial health)
Situation Analysis (10)– Give an in-depth analysis of the strategic issue you believe the
company is facing. What is the issue? How did this situation develop? What response has the
company had so far?
Alternatives (15)– Provide at least three strategic alternatives the company could use to
successfully navigate the situation in question based on the previous sections of the paper and
pros/cons of each. These must impact the entire organization and be mutually exclusive.

reasons based on previous portions of the paper or information from previous courses. Make sure

citations. The paper should be well-organized. All information should flow and not have
obvious distinctions between sections. However, each section should have a heading. These
can follow the outline above and sub-headings should be included. Do not take an entire section
of your paper from a single source. For example, do not just copy a Five Forces analysis from
one source. The paper can be longer than 10 pages if all of the information contributes to the
analysis. However, don’t use space on filler such as definitions; if the terms are applied correctly
to the company being analyzed, definitions are not necessary. Proper grammar, punctuation, etc.
should be used. The paper should have good content, depth of research, viability of alternatives,
use of logical reasons for decision-making, and appropriate use of written language.
