system managment

Choose one (1) scenario given in the list below as your assignment topic. Assume that your group has been hired by the client company to develop a networked system for their required services as described in your chosen scenario. Your task in this assignment is to (i) analyse client requirements, (ii) design the solutions, (iii) implement, configure, and troubleshoot implemented solutions, and finally, (iv) prepare a system documentation report meeting the client requirements and following a standard industry template. Detailed requirements are provided below:

1. For your chosen scenario, (i) analyse client requirements, (ii) identify and propose the required servers and server roles (services), and (iii) provide required configurations for your chosen scenario.

2. Perform the configurations using either virtually or physically installed server OS for your chosen scenario. Students can use Windows Server 2008 or a higher version, or Linux server if appropriate, which will depend on the scenario chosen. Your submission should include screenshots of each important step.

3. Prepare a detailed system documentation report to record your work done in steps 1 and 2 above, using a standard template. You have the freedom to create a template, with company name, logo, etc., for your client and use that for your documentation report. This report will serve as an important part of backup and disaster recovery documentation for the organisation in your chosen scenario, and can be used for training new IT staff in the organisation. As such, you must consider human usability factors and include the configurations using a description of each important step, and screenshots corresponding to those in a way that will be useful to the target users of the document. Essential sections that must be included in the documentation are provided in the marking guide, however, you can include additional sections if deemed useful.

You must configure the domain(s) using group members’ names (e.g., sajeen-joy-sam). If the chosen scenario requires a web server, the group must create a simple webpage (using html header tag only) to display the company’s name, and student ID numbers of the group members; this page needs to be stored on and displayed from the created web server.

This documentation report (one report per group) is to be submitted on Moodle in Week-11.

4. Use your configured system to demonstrate individually your understanding of the implemented scenario during your week-12 laboratory class.

Scenarios (Choose one scenario for your group to work on):

Scenario 1: Local Area Network (LAN) to support Windows Server and Client Environment

CharlieChocolates is a renowned chocolate manufacturing business requiring the setting up of a LAN for their office located in east Perth. They have four departments: Inventory, Marketing, Sales, and Accounting. All objects (e.g., users, computers, etc.) belonging to these departments need to be created within their respective Organisational Unit (OU) for their own department. CharlieChocolates requires the following LAN services:

1) Centralised user authentication
2) Print server for users
3) All computers should acquire the IP addresses automatically from a server
4) Hosting of their own website using their own server

5) The company wants to store all the files on a separate file server and only users with appropriate access will be able to access them (not every user should have access to the files). You can assume which users/groups will have access to these files, and state your assumption clearly.

Scenario 2: Local Area Network (LAN) to support Windows Server with multiple domains

TechGuru is an IT consulting company needing to setup a LAN for their main office which is located in Melbourne. They have three different departments named Operations, Consultants, and Marketing. All objects (e.g., users, computers, etc.) belonging to those departments should have their own Organisational Unit (OU). The clients require the following technologies to be implemented within their LAN:

1. Two different domains. One is allocated for the administrator and the other is allocated for everyone else (users)
2. Centralised user authentication for different domains
3. All computers should acquire their IP addresses automatically from a server
4. The Company should host a website from their own server

5. Your configuration should reflect the above criteria and display different privileges assigned to the different domains’ users belonging to these domains.

Scenario 3: Local Area Network (LAN) to support Windows Sever and Linux Client Environment

With the growing base of users of Linux, MacroSoft Software, a software development company which was planning to create a Windows server based LAN decided to also support Linux clients to authenticate using the Active Directory. The company has three different departments named Operations, Finance and Marketing. All objects (e.g., users, computers, etc.) belonging to these departments should have their own different OU. The clients require the following technologies to be implemented within their LAN:

1. The company requires a centralised user authentication support for Linux clients
2. All computers should acquire IP addresses from a server
3. The company should host a website through their own server
4. There should be hardware virtualisation platform

Scenario 4: Setting up technology/features for Linux Server and Windows Client Environment

Adventura, a Sydney-based new company is looking at setting up a LAN for their office. They have three different departments named General, Finance, and Marketing. All objects (e.g., users, computers, etc.) belonging to these departments should have their own different OU. The users require the following technologies to be implemented within their LAN:

1. The client wants to use the Linux operating system as a server side operating system with the LDAP/SAMBA service to communicate between windows client machines and a Linux server

2. Centralised user authentication for Windows clients

3. The company wants to store all the files on a separate file server and only users with appropriate access will be able to access them (not every user should have access to the files). You can assume which users/groups will have access to these files; state your assumptions clearly, as well as configure accordingly.

research and write a historiographical synopsis on your period of interest that identifies key historians, their writings, and their changing interpretations over time.

Remember you are researching broad historiographical trends, and not specifics related to your thesis.
The goal for this week is to start researching on the broadest scope of your topic to get a feel for where your argument will fit in with the works of historians who came before you. I would like you to find at least three books (no tertiary sources!) and two peer-reviewed journal articles to discuss in your post this week. I want you to explain what the argument of each source was and how those ideas fit with your own. Which sources put forward the same interpretations/conclusions that you hold? Which sources disagree with your interpretations/conclusions?
After you explain each source, please provide full bibliographic citations for each source. I expect these to be properly formatted in Chicago style, as this is the required format of the field of History. Of course, if you choose to quote from your sources, you will need to provide footnotes in addition to the required bibliography.

Address all of the following areas:
• Describe the company and provide a brief history of its operations. Find or use graphs to illustrate its financial performance over the years.
• Describe any sources of risk or uncertainty in its operations. Do the financial reports indicate risky or uncertain activities or changes to the economic environment that ultimately appear to have affected the company’s financial outcomes? Be specific.
• Are there any government regulations that have affected this company’s operations domestically or abroad? Explain.
• Describe the inputs that are used in this company’s production function and identify any challenges to securing these inputs.
• Determine if the company has introduced new products in existing markets or created new markets over time. What is the impact on its finances?
• Determine if the price of its products increased or declined over time and analyze the reasons for price fluctuations. Study the demand elasticity for its products and discuss the availability of close substitutes for its products. How does that affect pricing decisions?
• Analyze the company’s profitability. Identify the economy or industry influences on its costs, operations, and profitability.
• Describe the competitive environment in which the firm operates, the distribution of market power, and the strategic behavior of the firm and its competitors. Apply your knowledge of the theory of this company’s market structure. How does the company make pricing and production decisions? Is your observation supported by the theoretical models? Refer to the financial reports for illustration.
Describe any non-price competitive strategies that the company might be engaging in. Provide specific examples.
• Evaluate if the company made any mistakes in its decisions over time, and recommend any changes or improvements for future operations. Refer to the financial reports when making specific observations or recommendations..

Directions:

The following format is to be used for each paper in this section. Your professors in this program are the audience for your philosophy papers. Convince us that you have fully developed your professional philosophy in the three areas. Your philosophy papers should use the following format.

Paragraph One: Introduction/background information to philosophy. End this paragraph with your philosophy statement. Use a section heading flush left and underlines (no bold, no all caps) that says Introduction.
Paragraphs Two – Four: These paragraphs expand on and explain your philosophy. These 2-3 paragraphs support and provide evidence for your philosophy. Make sure that each one clearly supports your philosophy. Label this section something that pertains to the focus of the philosophy.
Paragraph Five: Conclusion – Restate your philosophy from paragraph one and briefly conclude the paragraph. Label this section Conclusion.

Include a References page (APA format required) for each paper. I assume you will include quotes or paraphrases from your textbooks to support your philosophy.

THE TWO POEMS I CHOOSE ARE WORDSWORTHS “SHE DWELT AMONG THE UNTRODDEN WAYS” AND “STRANGE FITS OF PASSION I HAVE KNOWN”

Literary analyses are essays in which we examine literary texts closely to interpret and understand their meanings and appreciate the writer’s techniques. For this formal essay, you’ll write a two-page literary analysis on poetic devices. Remember, poetic devices are tools writers use to shape meaning in their poems. To get a good sense of how poetic devices create deep layers of meaning in poetry, write about ONE poetic device in TWO poems. In your essay, consider the ways in which the poets use poetic devices to convey a particular meaning. For instance, you may focus on Wordsworth’s use of simile in “Strange fits of passion have I known” and “She dwelt among the untrodden ways” to highlight the notion of fading beauty. Or you may examine Shelley’s and Blake’s use of symbolism in “Ozymandias” and “The Tyger” to emphasize the power of the Creator or artist. In other words, it’s not enough to simply state in your essay that the poems contain simile or symbolism. Examine the ways in which the poets use poetic devices to shape and express very specific meanings or “themes” in their work.

The thesis is the most important part of your essay. Without it, your reader will be left wondering about the point of your piece. The thesis is a claim that you’re making about the readings and is revealed in a thesis statement.
The thesis statement clearly reveals the main idea (or “argument”) of your essay without saying, “In my essay, I will explore…” or “My essay will be about…” The thesis statement is usually found in the introduction, and the formula for the introduction might look like this: a) A “hook” that grabs your reader in the first sentence or two b) An introduction to the overall topic; and c) Offer your thesis in the thesis statement (usually one sentence).
When you write a literary analysis, you show one way the text may be understood, using evidence from the text to support your particular interpretation. Use at least two direct quotations from the poems (primary sources) to support your main ideas in the body paragraphs of your essay. But keep in mind that the more you turn to the text to support your interpretations, the clearer your line of thinking will be to your reader.
Sometimes, the transition between your own writing and the textual evidence can be difficult to make. One way to organize the body paragraphs would be: a) The first sentence of the body paragraph summarizes the main idea of the paragraph b) The next sentence reveals a key point c) Introduce the textual support (direct quote) with an introductory/signal phrase, such as “In Wordsworth’s poem, the speaker says…” d) Explain how the direct quote supports your key point and, ultimately, the body paragraph’s main idea.
Try to avoid using phrases such as “I think” or “I believe.” Your reader will know that your interpretations are your thoughts and beliefs.
Also, avoid summaries of the poems. Only summarize when you want to support or illustrate an important idea or inference about the poems.

Select a diagnostic model (see Chapter 4) that you and your team can utilize to review aspects of change activities and actions that have been taken by the companies chosen. For this analysis, we are looking at the parts of the companies as well as their strategies, as surmised by your earlier research. It is acknowledged that this information will not be complete as you are looking at these companies as an outsider; but a thoroughly researched paper will give enough data to allow some well defended assumptions on your part.
Here’s what to do.
1. Select one diagnostic model (i.e., 6-box, 7S, congruence, or one of the others) to apply to the two chosen companies. Choose the model that you and your team feel best identifies and measures the relevant aspects of the organization’s performance.
2. Apply the data obtained in your research through an analysis of the appropriate chosen model. This will allow you and your team to create a diagnosis of where each company is today (as per the criteria of the model).
3. Create a SWOT analysis for each of the two chosen companies change plans/programs, utilizing information obtained in the diagnosis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats).
4. As a team, compare the two company analyses to each other, and offer your perspective (value judgment) of the effectiveness of the changes made to date in each case.
5. Identify potential areas of resistance that may occur and at least one strategy to respond to each. (This will most likely come from your weaknesses/threats section of your SWOT. If not, take another look at your SWOT.)
6. Make recommendations for further actions within the organizations and the rationale chosen for these recommendations.
7. Write your team paper, including each of the above sections and analyses

Please write a short story, by choosing from one of these prompts:
A – Your MC is at a gathering (small or large, you choose the specifics) when s/he discovers something
unsettling about one of the guests. Does the MC confront the guest? Does the gathering go on?

B – Your MC hears a knock on the door. Who’s knocking? How will your MC solve the problem posed by
the person on the other side? Please, no life-and-death circumstances.

C- A storyline of your own choosing.
Your story should:
1. Include a beginning, middle, and end.
2. Use selective concrete details to describe your characters, their setting, and to make the reader
know what’s important.

3. Have your MC undergo a change from the beginning of the story, to the end. As a reader, we
must realize this change from the way s/he acts, speaks, and feels with respect to a defining
moment, not by what’s explained to us. How is life never the same again for your MC?

4. Use standard grammar, punctuation, and usage conventions.

5. 3-5 pages typed, double-spaced, 12 font. Please don’t go above or below this page requirement.
