Assume you have been tasked with redesigning your organization’s hiring processes.

At this point in the course you should be well armed with the tools and knowledge necessary to make better-informed and rational choices. Apply that knowledge as you tackle one of the most important, and yet heavily subjective, of management responsibilities—the hiring process.

Assume you have been tasked with redesigning your organization’s hiring processes. Respond to the following:

  • Select two of the six pitfalls listed below:
    • Influenced by initial impressions
    • Justifying past decisions
    • Seeing what you want to see
    • Perpetuating the status quo
    • Framing the hiring decision
    • Overconfidence
  • Examine how you might change the process to avoid your selected pitfalls.

Your historical analysis should be focused on what the film portrayed that was accurate and what was historically inaccurate in the film. It is acceptable to use outside sources to double-check (for example, I am watching a film about the Civil War and someone is on the telegraph.

During the course of this semester, you will watch a couple of films that I have selected for you and write historical critiques of the films.
We will watch the films in class. If you miss either day, I will provide you the name of the film and you will have to watch it on your own time.

You may want to begin with a paragraph about the historical setting the film is supposed to portray but plot summary is NOT what this paper is about, so be brief on this part.

Your historical analysis should be focused on what the film portrayed that was accurate and what was historically inaccurate in the film. It is acceptable to use outside sources to double-check (for example, I am watching a film about the Civil War and someone is on the telegraph. I cannot remember the year the telegraph was invented, so I might look that up.) BE SURE TO GIVE CREDIT FOR ALL OF THE PLACES WHERE YOU DOUBLE-CHECKED/GOT INFORMATION!!! OTHERWISE, YOU ARE PLAIGARIZING WHICH RESULTS IN GRADE OF 0!!!!

You will not be provided notes, but you can take notes focusing on a specific aspect of two in the film instead of trying to talk about everything.

The paper should be MLA format and 500-750 words long. (This is 2-3 pages)

Remember to italicize the titles of movies.

select an article that details mobile application vulnerabilities and analyze and assess how to mitigate the risks.

Description

The “Article Reference” should be a separate section between the title page and the summary. This is simply providing the reader the formal citation/reference for the article you selected. This item should appear at the top of the page, followed by a blank line, then the header for Summary. This item should follow APA format and will also appear in the References section, in the exact same format, for example:
Article Reference

Borrett, M., Carter, R., & Wespi, A. (2013). How is cyber threat evolving and what do
organisations need to consider? Journal of Business Continuity & Emergency Planning, 7(2), 163–171.

The section titles from the Sample document (“Article Reference,” “Summary,” “Results,” and “Discussion”) should be used as the heading titles for each of the sections in the paper. Using proper APA format for all headers. You have to use at least the level one headers provided, but you are free and encouraged to use other levels in organizing your paper.

All the articles should be from trusted IA/IS journals, as mentioned in the rubric.

Research articles should be less than five years old, as the research changes so fast in our fields of study. However, the exception is for seminal (heavily cited and popular articles) which may be decades old, if still relevant. It is your choice as an author as to what is adequate (relevant), you need to use your judgment in that regard.

“Review” means to compare and contrast, summarizing all points of view in the article, succinctly. The appropriate audience is your peers and your instructor. Be sure to write with an authoritative voice, meaning state concepts assertively, not tentatively. For example, state things and conclusions with certainty, not with modifiers such as “will” or “should” or “perhaps.”

When faced with a problem, what do you do to solve it? This assignment asks you to apply a six-step to problem solving process to a specific problem scenario.

Assignment 2:  Problem Solving
Due Week 9 and worth 150 points

When faced with a problem, what do you do to solve it? This assignment asks you to apply a six-step to problem solving process to a specific problem scenario. You will write a paper that presents a synthesis of your ideas about solving the problem using this systematic approach. As Voltaire said, “No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thinking.”

Choose one (1) of the problem scenarios as a topic choice for your paper (Note: Your professor must approve your topic choice before you begin work on the assignment.)

Scenario 1: You have worked at your company for eleven (11) years. You have returned to college to earn a Bachelor’s degree in order to increase your chances for a promotion. You are nearly finished with your degree, when a supervisor’s position in a competing company becomes available in another state. The start date is in two (2) weeks, during your final exam period for your courses. The position offers a $15,000 per year salary increase, a car allowance, and relocation expenses. Your former supervisor works for the company and is recommending you for the position based on your outstanding job performance; if you want the job, it’s yours. All of the other supervisors at this level in the company have Master’s degrees, so you know that you would be expected to earn your Bachelor’s degree and continue on to a Master’s degree. Your present company offers tuition reimbursement, but the new company does not.

Scenario 2: Your child comes home from school with an assignment sheet for a school project. He / she is very excited about the project and begins work immediately, doing research on the Internet and gathering materials. You read over the assignment sheet and notice that your child is not including all of the required items in the project, and you have some ideas for how to improve the quality of the presentation. You recently read an article in a parenting magazine about the importance of a child developing responsibility for his/ her own learning. You recall the many ways in which your parents took over your school projects. You, on the other hand, want to encourage your child’s confidence in his / her ability to complete a project independently. The next day, you are at the grocery store when you see a parent of a student in your child’s class. That parent has spent over $30 in supplies for the science project and is taking a day off of work to put the pieces of the project together.

Scenario 3: You have two jobs—one during the week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and one on Saturday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. You are taking two classes—one that meets from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and one class online. You have two kids—one who plays soccer, and one who is in band. You have two elderly parents who no longer drive. You have two siblings—one who lives two (2) miles away, and one who lives in another state. You have two (2) papers due in your classes the same week that one (1) of your children has a soccer tournament, and the other child has a band concert. You are coaching the soccer team, and you are in charge of fundraising for the band. You have a goal to complete your degree in two (2) years. Your doctor tells you that your blood pressure, your cholesterol, and your weight are too high and recommends several medications that cost you nearly $200 per month after your insurance co-pay.

Scenario 4: You are a sales representative for a company that encourages staff to log time in the field and away from the office. You are expected to begin and end your day at the office. You notice that each day when you arrive and return another co-worker is already there, and you wonder whether this person spends most of his / her time at the office. At your weekly sales meeting, you are informed of your co-workers’ outstanding sales performance. You suspect that this co-worker is spending more time flattering the boss instead of working leads in the field, and as a result is getting the best client referrals. Your own sales numbers have steadily decreased since this other sales representative was hired.

Scenario 5: Professor’s Choice – problem scenario presented by your professor.

Scenario 6: Student’s Choice – Problem scenario presented by you.

Review the six-step problem solving process outlined in the webtext, based on the article “The Problem Solving Process” located at http://www.gdrc.org/decision/problem-solve.html:

  • Step One: Define the problem
  • Step Two: Analyze the problem
  • Step Three: Generate options
  • Step Four: Evaluate options
  • Step Five: Make your decision
  • Step Six: Implement and reflect

Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you:
1. Define the problem in the scenario that you have chosen.
2. Analyze the problem in the scenario.
3. Generate options for solving the problem in the scenario.
4. Evaluate the options for solving the problem.
5. Decide on the best option for solving the problem.
6. Explain how you will implement the decision made and reflect on whether this option was the most effective.

The paper should follow guidelines for clear and organized writing:

  • Include an introductory paragraph and concluding paragraph.
  • Address main ideas in body paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences.

Discuss and compare the current system of electing the members of the Senate with an optional preferential system and critically analyse the difference(s)

Read together, sections 7, 9 and 51(xxxix) of the Constitution gives the
Parliament the power to prescribe the method of voting for members of the
Senate, provided that method permits voters a free choice among the candidates
for election.
The result of the Senate election in 2013 has sparked debate about how
representative the current system is because the distribution of preferences
delivered Senate seats to parties with a very low primary vote. Proposals for
reforming the senate voting method have focused on the introduction of an
optional preferential system of voting for the Senate to replace the current
system where voting by the majority of voters ‘above the line’ largely restricts
the distribution of preferences to the choices and deals made by the candidates.
a. Discuss and compare the current system of electing the members of the Senate
with an optional preferential system and critically analyse the difference(s) and
b. Which voting method for the Senate best advances the objective of
representative government contained in the Constitution and how?
c. While a right to vote has been found to be entrenched in the Constitution
through the use of the words ‘chosen by the people’,
Do you think the method of voting for the Senate should also be constitutionally
entrenched, limiting the power of the Parliament to determine and change the
method of electing the Senate and require a constitutional amendment approved
by the people under the terms of s.128?
In completing the essay you should consider the 1. historical purpose of the
Senate,
2. who has the power to determine the electoral system and its design and
2. what constitutional problems can be identified as arising from the Senate
election in 2013, particularly the success of ‘micro-parties’.

transparent pricing and its effect on consumer value perception

General remark: I miss referencing. For example when there is a statement that previous research shows / not show/ study…. there should be referencing to those studies. Otherwise its no ground.

Model:

There are three mediators, not two: perceived fairness, price underestimation, and processing disfluency.

…. When price underestimation mediates the impact of transparent pricing onperceived value, retailers are likely to get negative response from consumers, especially when they increase prices of their products. – Im not sure this is correct statement.

Theory:

Again, its focused too much on fairness. Each chapter can be max 5 pages, less is ok. And within those pages for theory chapter we need definitions of all variables, and hypothesis development. Hypothesis are in the data file next to the model. Please use those.

Well, missing parts. I believe writer is still working on those.
07/08/2018 2:20 AM draft comments How many times I need to say its three mediators not two? Its not enough referencing and sources….
Hypothesis are all there: h1a and h1b need to be as separate hypotheses not as only h1…. it makes a big difference!

7/4 5AM
Thank you for the update.
The draft looks better and better. Thank you once again. I appreciate a lot what you do.
I would like to have the final draft from you as soon as possible.

7/18/2018 3PM: Please proceed with revising, I have about 24 hours

30/07/18 10:14 am – Draft Feedback
General, please avoid passive voice. In general guidelines it is mentioned you should use active voice as it makes the paper easier to read.

1. independent variable is Binary,
The rest of the variables in the model are Interval, not Ordinal. They were measured using Likertvscale, multiple items, if you did it well, you used the average score then. The result is you can treat them as scale in spss.

2.I mentioned already previously that
You cant and Shouldnt measure assosiation between Binary and interval variables using pearson correlation.
Please use t test instead, or spearmans correlation… thats basic statistics….

3. As i said before ….About the mediator Price Underestimation.
If people underestimate the price it should increase perceived value. Not decrease it!
Product has a value to consumer. Price is a cost. The higher the price the higher the cost is. That means lower perceived value.
In the draft its wierd relationship…
