Discussion #1: Dealing with Change
As a leader, change in some manner is inevitable. Your company can be acquired, you have workforce turnover, updates in technology, new products, changes in the economy—the list can go on and on.
You are a leader of a company that was just acquired by a competitor. Your staff is understandably nervous about the change and unsure what the future may hold.
What are 3 potential reasons why employees may be resistant to this change, based on the theories of change we are reading about this week?
What do you think is ONE of the more important things you can do as a leader that will help minimize your employees’ resistance to that change and get them on-board with the change?
In your responses to your peers, tie in your own experiences with change and how you may have resisted or embraced the changes. How did your leader respond?
To submit your post to the Discussion select “Start a New Thread”, and type or paste your posting to the question. After reading your peers post, select “Reply to Thread”.
Please note: This Discussion and all the graded discussions in this course are “Must Post First”: After you have posted your response – you then get the benefit of seeing what your fellow students answered while going through the same discussion exercise. Then you can provide feedback comments.
