THIS IS NOT A PAPER rather a short discussion post, 250-350 words.

In this module we have focused on the works of Booker T. Washington and Frederick Douglass. However, there were other prominent African American authors that wrote during this time period in American History known as the Reconstruction Era.

For this discussion we will explore the literary works of other authors. Complete the following steps:

1. Conduct an internet search to find one African American author that lived and wrote during the time period of 1865 to 1919.

2. Post a description of the author and his/her literary contributions. Your post should include the following elements:

-Title your post with the name of the author and their life span (if dates are known). For example: Harriet Jacobs 1813 – 1897

-Describe the authors literary contributions and provide the titles of their work. You should also be able to include a link to the author’s works. Any documents written prior to 1923 are in the public domain (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site..

-Provide a brief biography of the author, including:
Where they lived (geographical location) and
The experiences that shaped their writing.

-You can choose to provide a link to the author’s biography instead of writing a biography. YouTube videos are also acceptable. To add links to your post, you can copy and paste the URLs into your post
