Being a great leader and manager involves being able to effectively delegate tasks to the right people to get the job done correctly and efficiently. Give an example of something at work (if you don’t have a job then use ideas from what you know about someone else’s job, a past job, or as a parent delegating to a family member) that should be delegated instead of being done by the manager.

Discussion #1: Delegation

Being a great leader and manager involves being able to effectively delegate tasks to the right people to get the job done correctly and efficiently. Give an example of something at work (if you don’t have a job then use ideas from what you know about someone else’s job, a past job, or as a parent delegating to a family member) that should be delegated instead of being done by the manager.
Using the steps of delegation and what you learned about delegation in this module, explain why this task should be delegated and outline the process you would use (being specific in applying this to your example) to delegate this task.
After reading your responses from your peers, determine the risks and rewards of delegation. Why is follow up important in all the tasks identified by you and your peers?
To submit your post to the Discussion select “Start a New Thread”, and type or paste your posting to the question. After reading your peers post, select “Reply to Thread”.
Please note: This Discussion and all the graded discussions in this course are “Must Post First”: After you have posted your response – you then get the benefit of seeing what your fellow students answered while going through the same discussion exercise. Then you can provide feedback comments
