Identify a common and legal practice in contemporary business and professional culture. The practice should be something that is (1) common enough to have generated a substantial scholarly and trade discourse; and (2) generates morally ambiguous effects.
Plainly stated, the practice should be well-known, within the bounds of the law, and have at least some questionable ethical aspects. Examples are: Restructuring; Sustainability; A particular sales, marketing, or accounting practice; Outsourcing; Down-sizing; Customer service evaluation; etc.
Read at least two (2) scholarly or serious-trade narratives about this practice.
Write a 350-word essay describing the practice and examining it from the perspective of Categorical Ethics. Imagine yourself as a manager or other professional leader responsible for supervising this practice. List the questions that would occur to you if you took a Categorical perspective to this task. Use your course readings for this module, as well as the Overview & Introduction material, to construct your analysis.
Include the citations of your two (2) sources at the end of the essay. Use quotation marks, and attribute credit for any ideas or concepts, as necessary.
