JOURNALS:

Should be at least one page, typed, and should include name and date. Journals will be done in-class so please bring your laptop.

RESPONSE PAPERS:

Should be at least two pages, typed, with an APA title page and references.  You must provide a copy of the article you used or send me the link.

PRESENTATIONS:

Should be 5-10 minutes in length and can include visuals or handouts.  Presentations must address some critical aspect of the writing, the author, the era, or something specific from one of Austen’s novels.  For example, you might choose something on women authors of that era, women’s rights, class, inheritances, or manners.  Keep in mind that presentations should give your classmates new or interesting information.  Presentations can also be related to your final essay.

FINAL ESSAY:

Final essays should be 4-6 pages in length, not including a title page and reference page.  Essays should contain at least four (4) pages of text.  Essays should contain at least three (3) academic sources.  Academic sources are ones found on the Bethel online library.  No .com sources allowed.  Essays must be well-written, have few grammar errors, and should contain a clear thesis and good supporting evidence.  Papers should be placed in the Unit 5 Dropbox prior to our class meeting week 5.
