Your MC is at a gathering (small or large, you choose the specifics) when s/he discovers something unsettling about one of the guests. Does the MC confront the guest? Does the gathering go on?

Short Story #1 Guidelines
Please write a short story, by choosing from one of these prompts:
A – Your MC is at a gathering (small or large, you choose the specifics) when s/he discovers something unsettling about one of the guests. Does the MC confront the guest? Does the gathering go on?
B – Your MC hears a knock on the door. Who’s knocking? How will your MC solve the problem posed by the person on the other side? Please, no life-and-death circumstances.
C- A storyline of your own choosing.
Your story should:
1. Include a beginning, middle, and end.
2. Use selective concrete details to describe your characters, their setting, and to make the reader
know what’s important.
3. Have your MC undergo a change from the beginning of the story, to the end. As a reader, we
must realize this change from the way s/he acts, speaks, and feels with respect to a defining
moment, not by what’s explained to us. How is life never the same again for your MC?
4. Use standard grammar, punctuation, and usage conventions.
5. 3 pages typed, double-spaced, 12 font.
