2.2 Multigenerational Background & Significance Paper Instructions
Prepare a 1 -2 page report that will:
• Provide background regarding the organization that will serve as the basis for the research study (Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.).
• Discuss why he/she has chosen the specific “sticking point” (RESPECT) for the Research Proposal paper. See “authors note below” for the submission to the instructor describing my research topic.
• Explain the goals of the study and why it is relevant and worth doing. “The fraternity is suffering from the divide between undergraduates and alumni members. There must be a synergy between the differing generations in order to facilitate growth of the organization”
Indicate what major problems or deterrents are anticipated and establish the “scope” of the proposed research.

***AUTHOR’S NOTE*** I would like to keep the same general subject (Kappa Alpha Psi) and focus on the sticking point “respect”. This is a major point of contention between the older members of the fraternity (age in years and age in fraternity membership years). There is an ongoing issue of each “sub culture” (undergraduate and alumni) feeling that neither gives the other the expected respect (deference).
