social movement for Women’s Liberation

Essay:
Analyze the social movement for Women’s Liberation by addressing the following 6 questions of the course:
• What is the social movement?(define it)/Why did it emerge?
• Who participated in the movement? Why?
• How was the social movement organized?
• What were the tactics and strategies of the social movement?
• How did outside forces shape the social movement?
• What was the impact of the social movement? What was its successes? What was its failures?
In writing your essay please remember that the terms we are using for each social movement is extremely broad. It is up to you to determine the component of the movement in question that you are talking about. For example, for women’s liberation, you could discuss the suffrage movement, the battle for reproductive justice or even the #metoo movement. You could write about one of the 3 waves or you could write about women’s liberation as a whole. I would suggest that the more specific you are, the easier the essay will be. You can use sources from class or outside sources. Please cite your sources. Also we have only started to address question 1 in the course but answer the other questions to the best of your ability based on what we have discussed so far.
Instructions:
• Use articles from class and the lecture notes to help answer these questions. The questions are supposed to elicit your opinion and understanding about the movements we have discussed in class. Your interpretation of the readings, outside sources, and discussions from class are what matters when writing your essays.

• You can write one long essay in which you touch on all of the questions or you can break the essay up into each question as small subheadings
