Speech Text Analysis Assignment

Analyze the text of a speech of your choice, using the defined terms from your textbook (chapters 1-14).

Requirements:

– The speech must be 3-6 pages long, double-spaced, 12 point font. You may use a portion of a longer speech.

– The speech must have been given by a non-fictional person, in front of real people (the speech cannot be from a movie, or made by a fictional character from a movie)

– The speech must have been planned, intentional, and for a purpose (not spur of the moment, or speaking off the cuff/stream of consciousness).

You are to go through this text and identify each portion of it, from broad aspects (like introduction, body, and conclusion), to the smallest detail (like connectives, types of supporting material, etc.). How you analyze (footnotes, using different colors in your font for your notations, etc.) is up to you, so long as it follows one set of rules and is clear throughout the analysis.

The annotated analysis must be physically handed in on Wednesday, October 10. This assignment must be typed. No late work will be accepted.

Questions and concerns can be communicated to me via email.
