Lab 3 –Vinyl Cutter Report
Instructions: The student must design a 2D sticker using InkScape (or 2D design software) to
generate a template to create a sticker using the BEACH’s vinyl cutter. In addition, the student
will be responsible for writing a lab report to document the necessary steps, equipment,
procedure, etc. The assignment must address the following criteria:
1. The sticker must not have dimensions that are larger than 6 inches by 6 inches.
a. Printer properties = 6” x 6”
2. Sticker must consist of a minimum of 4 layers (colors) and a maximum of 10 layers
(colors).
a. ONLY USE FROM THE NOTEBOOK OF VINYL COLORS
3. Sticker must include added (modified) text within the image that is not part of the
original image.
a. Add your name or slogan (i.e. same example done in class)
4. Write a lab report in accordance with ASTM framework. Must include these subsections:
a. Scope
b. Referenced Documents
c. Terminology
d. Apparatus (Equipment)
i. Include images per equipment
e. Procedure
i. Image of important steps (use best judgment)
ii. Keep it simple
f. Results/Report
i. Must discuss how the sticker turned out in the end.
ii. What would be done differently to make it better?
iii. What were the difficulties? Easy parts?
iv. Did you make more than one? If so, what changed?
v. Etc.
5. Submit an image of the customized sticker in the lab report via Blackboard to receive
full credit for the assignment.
