Write the ideal (in your opinion) methods section to fit your research question. Use
information from the text readings, class PPT lectures and the Discussion Board
dialogue. Your submission should include but not be limited to the following:
 Write your Methods section using FUTURE TENSE since you have not conducted
the study.
 Try to avoid first person.
 State your refined/revised research question based on feedback from
Assignment 1.
 Will the study be quantitative, qualitative or a mixed method design? Use your
text to explain and apply your choice of design.
 What specific methods and associated designs will you use? Quasi-experiment?
Survey? Observation? Existing Data Analysis? Grounded Theory? Case Studies?
Other?
 Why do you think your chosen method is the best one for the job?
 How will you recruit or select your sample(s)? What specific sampling technique
is this?
 What instruments or data collection tools will you use to answer your research
question?
 How will you address the validity and reliability of the quantity and quality of
your data?
 How will you analyze your data?
 How will you structure your plan to be ethical?
EVERYTHING must relate to your refined research question. Keep in mind that you must
do more than simply write, “I will use surveys because that is the best way to answer my
question.” I want you to explain why you think it is the best method. You cannot simply
state, “I will be deal with threats to validity and reliability.” You must explain how you
will do that. And so on for every above point. As always, contact your instructor with
